The Candidate Survey

2007 Survey of New Jersey Senate and Assembly Candidates was developed in conjunction with NJTA’s recently announced Legislator Report Card Initiative  It is designed to provide New Jersey voters with candidate positions on key issues that will significantly affect taxes, spending, debt and regulatory burdens imposed on New Jersey residents and taxpayers.

The survey was mailed to all 262 candidates; requesting incumbents and challengers to provide their positions as they relate to the following issues:

  • INCREASE OF SALES AND USE TAX
  • OFFICE OF INDEPENDENT STATE COMPTROLLER
  • PUBLIC EMPLOYEE BENEFITS REFORM
  • PROPERTY TAX REFORM
  • SCHOOL CHOICE
  • BALLOT INITIATIVE (INITIATIVE & REFERENDUM)

Click on your District below to view your candidates' responses.  Not all candidates responded.  NJTA made every effort to validate the data but due to the volume of detail involved apologizes for any error in interpretation, including the correct spelling of names, etc.
